Yukon Dropouts designed for performance, off-road racing

Introduction

Yukon Dropouts

One way that Yukon stays on top of the differential world is through innovation. An example of an area we make a difference is with our Dropouts. A Dropout is a removable housing that contains the differential carrier and ring & pinion gear set in rear differentials. Designed for performance, most Yukon Dropouts are rated up to 1400 horsepower, and provide heavy duty strength for off-road, racing and high horsepower applications.

Yukon Dropouts feature stronger materials and larger bearings for higher strength, designed to exceed OEM specs. Available for the popular Chrysler 8.75”, Ford 8” and 9”, and Toyota 8”.  The 9” options include HD Nodular Iron or HD Aluminum, with or without load bolt.

All Yukon Dropouts and Yukon Pinion Supports are backed by a 1 year warranty.

SIZE MATTERS

When ever the gear ratio in a differential is changed pinion diameter changes. There are two things that must change in order for the gear ratio to change. First, the gear ratio is determined by the tooth combination. The number of teeth on the ring gear divided by the number of teeth on the pinion (eg: 41/11 = 3.73) equals the gear ratio.  Click to the article to read continue reading.
