The Spartan Locker provides aggressive off road traction and reliability at a low cost point. A great starter locker, the Spartan is easy-to-install in your differential, replacing existing spider gears.
An air-operated locker, the Zip Locker allows for selectability between fully locked traction, and an open differential, at the flip of a switch. When versatility is key, the Zip Locker makes an excellent choice. Also available in a default-to-locked competition model.
Gear & Install Kit Packages
Regearing to larger gears is highly recommended when adding bigger tires, or additional lift, in order to regain lost power. A Gear & Install Kit Package from RANDYS provides all the gears and small parts necessary for a front and rear gear swap in one simple part number.
Often overlooked when modifying a Jeep for off road is the importance of upgrading the driveline. With Performance Driveshafts from Yukon, you’ll not only get an upgrade in strength over stock, but increased articulation to accommodate lifts and larger tires.
The majority of modern Jeep models use Dana differentials, particularly in the front, with older models typically using differentials from AMC. The Dana 30 is a standard front differential on Wranglers from the YJ to TJ to JK, as well as the Cherokee XJ. While serviceable, the 30 doesn't hold up as well to modifications from larger tires and lifts as well as its bigger, stronger brothers the Dana 44 (stock front and rear on Rubicon models) and the Dana 60. In the rear of the YJ and TJ an AMC Model 35 is your standard factory differential. Be sure to know which differential is under your rig before ordering aftermarket parts.
