1 review for High performance Yukon Ring & Pinion gear set for Model 20 in a 3.54 ratio

The splines on this pinion gear are .100 shorter than a factory gear set. The yoke will bottom out against the bearing land before the correct pre load can be achieved.
I originally thought it was a yoke problem as I was using a new YY M20-1310-28U Yoke. I tried a factory yoke and had the same problem.
To solve the problem I had the relief on the back side of the yoke machined deeper to allow it to go on farther. Problem solved.
It would have been nice to know of this machining difference before hand and save a day lost sorting it out.
I was installing this gear set into a 1971 AMC AMX. I compared the pinion splines to the original gears I removed.
I did not warranty this as a manufacturing defect because they are all made this way. This same gear set is used by some other brands so you may have this problem with them also.
I purchased this gear set and yoke directly from Randy’s
